During the past several days several stables have reached the Kentucky Derby course from the Ozarks and Saturday two principal stables checked in with the arrival of J. Graham Brown s Brown Hotel establishment and Dr. C. N. Finchs well-balanced outfit. Dr. Finch, a resident of Jeffersonville, Ind., was the leading trainer at Churchill Downs last spring and many of his consistent colorbearers were the first to be unloaded. Yar, also very successful under the blue and white colors of the Indiana owner here last fall, has several engagements to fill and Dr. Finch, a famous thoroughbred throat specialist, stated the gelding is ready to continue the fine campaign started at Oaklawn Park. Last spring there was much fanfare when the Brown Hotel Stable unloaded, for Seven Hearts, Arkansas Derby winner, headed the troupe. He has been undergoing training after recovering from light blistering of his ankles and will be ready to participate in the 31-day session, which includes Keenelands seven-day season, a six-day War Relief meeting and 18 days of the regular Churchill Downs season. Meanwhile schooling has started at Churchill Downs under the direction of Francis "Sprig" Kennedy. Starter Reuben White and his other associates will reach Louisville Monday and thereafter schooling classes will be conducted at both Churchill Downs and Douglas Park.
