Harron, long associated with Maryland tracks and Delaware Park, has been named I I steward to represent the Maryland Jockey ! Club during the 28-day combined meeting of the states four major tracks at Pimlico i beginning April 12. Harron s appointment was announced! today by Harry A. Parr III., president of | the Maryland Jockey Club, with release of I the list of officials for the spring session submitted to the Maryland Racing Com-; mission. As yet the commission has not revealed who will be the steward representing that body. Last year George Brown, Jr., func-; j tioned in that capacity. I The names of Wilmer Brinton, steward representing the West Virginia Racing . Commission at Wheeling Downs, and J. Walton Bolgiano have figured in considera- J ! tions for commission steward, along with j Brown, it is understood. There was a deadlock vote for the third steward last spring. A compromise was effected resulting in! j elevation of Mathias C. Ty" Shea to the pagoda. 1 ! Two changes are noted in the official , line-up for the meeting. George Palmer j I will assume Edward J. Brennans post as one of the placing judges, and Patrick Far-rell I becomes a patrol judge. Heretofore he I acted in a clerical capacity on racing secre- | | tary Charles J. McLennans staff. Brennan continues as steeplechase rac-! ing secretary, and McLennan in the same role for flat racing. Jim Milton is again I | down as starter, and placing judges, besides Palmer, are John Turner, Sr., and i Sidney S. Brown.
