Y., April 4.— New York i racing is inaugurating a new idea with the ej j opening of the new season at Jamaica Sat-1 urday, when the spring meeting of the e I Metropolitan Jockey Club starts. This is s j an information service for patrons which 1 i the five associations conducting racing in I New York hope will furnish a more direct j contact between the racing public, racing j j officials and the sport itself. This new v | j service is in addition to the one for answer- j ; ing questions about the mutuels. Each h i mutuel division will again have its own in- . j i formation window. 1 Each association at its meeting will set •t i up and man a public inquiry booth, m n i j charge of Fred A. Graber, which will be m j conveniently located for patrons of the l I grandstands and clubhouses. It will answer general racing questions which patrons IE | I may ask during the course of an afternoon 11 at a track. The booth will be connected d by direct wire with the stewards and othei officials. If patrons are puzzled by the dis-• qualification of a horse, a late scratch or ■ any other detail, they may obtain full in-i formation at the new booth.
