ARMISTICE DAY, slow at the start, was forced to take the overland route and closed with a rush. QC1LI ON raced between horses on the turn, moved up boldly in the stretch, but hung near the finish. CORONAL closed with a lush after being off badly. LAYAWAY showed eood early speed and tired. BLACK GRIP showed early speed. ABBE PIERRE moved into contention on the turn and tired in the drive. ARTHUR MURRAY, under restraint for thiee quarters, saved ground entering the stretch to reach the leaders and then was kept in close quarters in the stietch run. KSAR OF AUDLEY, well placed throughout, went to the inside when SQUADRON drifted out. was going very well when caueht in close quarters by SQUADRON and in turn crowded ARTHUR MURRAY. GOO GOO caught tired horses. THE WATCH tired after forcing the pace. SQUADRON was disqualified for bothering KSAR OF AUDLEY and ARTHUR MURRAY. He was officially placed third.
