| Maryland Notes i PIMLICO. Baltimore. Md.. April 21. Trainer G. E. "Doc Littlefield, who handles the horses of E. K. Hillman, G. Reed [ and W. D. Jones, has added another string , to his care. Littlefield has taken over the [ three head recently purchased by E. Fitchett of Green Bush, Va. The entire stable will be shipped to Charles Town, W. Va., following this meeting. Stanley Austin, formerly with the stable ! of E. B. Lee, is serving in the U. S. Navy, according to word received here from his 5 former employer. The plater, Canmeg, has been added to the stewards list of barred horses. The entry of this horse has been ordered refused until further notice. John Bosley still has the boys talking I about his achievement of bringing the veteran - Bay Melia, back to the races in such i excellent condition. "Whitey" Nixon, former trainer of the G. R. Watkins string, was a visitor from Fort Riley. Kan. Nixon was taken into the U. S. Army during the past year. William Boniface, former racing editor for the Baltimore Sun and now a member of the U. S. Marine Corps, was off for the afternoon and renewed old race track andc- quaintances. Jockey Arnold Kirkland, contract rider for the Brandywine Stable, was in town, made the trip here to take his preinduction physical. Word was received here today that Thomas J. Healey, former trainer and at present a steward at several eastern tracks, has arrived at the Meadowview Farm In Holmdel, N. J., and was very much on the mend. Healey was in ill health during his last few weeks in Florida.
