New Gansett Books Out [ ! PAWTUCKET, R. I.. April 21— Racing secretary and Handicapper Mathias "Ty" Shea today distributed his second condition book of the Narragansett meeting. The leaflet covers a 10-day period, Monday, April 24, to Thursday, May 4. Horsemen were pleasantly surprised to read that the management has voluntarily and without previous notice, increased the value of the average daily distribution 60 per day. Shea has kept the minimum purse at ,200 but this will only be offered for maiden 2-year-old races and the cheaper claiming events. Other purses are pitched upward as benefits the quality of Jhe contests. Allowance "races carrying 5,000, . ,600 and ,800 awards.
