This announcement was made today by the Delaware Steeplechase and Racing Association which will conduct the meeting from May 29 to July 4. There will be no racing on two Mondays. June 12 and June 19. Edward J. Brennan, veteran racing secretary and handicapper, who recently returned from Santo Domingo where he was consultant to the Government on the establishment of racing, has written the condition book for Delaware Parks 30 days of racing. Delaware Park will maintain the added money value of each stake, there being 13 in all, with four to be run during the initial 10 days. Mr. Brennan s breakdown of the first condition book will be four events with a value of ,500, four at ,000; 11 at ,800; 15 at ,600; and 42 at ,500. The minimum purse of ,500 has been set, mindful of the increasing costs to horsemen. The opening day feature will be the ,000 added Dover Stakes for two-year- olds at a distance of five furlongs.
