Twenty-One Are Named For Governors Handicap Suffolks First Stake on Monday Honors Massachusetts Executive EAST BOSTON, Mass., June 6.— Twenty-one thoroughbreds have been named lor the Governors Handicap, next Mondays opening-day feature at Suffolk Downs, as the thoroughbred scene shifts to Massachusetts for a stay of 54 consecutive days through August 11. Nearly all of the nominees performed during the Narragan-sett Park meeting, with several new names dropping into the lists. Those named for the ,000 stake, at the favorite route of one mile, include Castle-man, Spangled Game, Son OHal, Dinner Party, Chain Miss, Sollure, Romulus, Float Me, Side Boy, Cavatorta, Kewey Dee, One-cbill, Unknown Reward, Valdina Craft, Miss Balladier, Broke Even, Mixer, Boot and Spur, Salvo, Rocket Gal and Tool-maker. The Governors Handicap will be run before a distinguished audience, including the Governor of Massachusetts, M. J. Tobin. Governor Tobin, in company with his staif, will attend a buffet luncheon in the ad- • ministrative quarters, and will later pre- ! sent the winning owner with the handsome Governors Plate, an annual award from the states chief executive. There is every likelihood that Gov. J. McGrath of Rhode ! Island, and Governor Dale of New Hampshire will also be in attendance, the heads of the three New England racing states helping to salute the return of the sport to the Greater Boston area. Weights for the Governors Handicap are due today from the office of racing secretary Charles McLennan.
