Lincoln Stewards Investigate Gold Tints Race of June 2 STICKNEY, 111., June 7.— The stewards of the Lincoln Fields Jockey Club today made the following announcement: "Regarding the second race on June 2, 1945. in which Gold Tint was the favorite and finished sixth: "After a thorough investigation by the stewards, who questioned both trainer H. Ekey and jockey B. Nichols, neither one of who could give any reason other than the horse would not extend herself, it was found by Dr. M. F. Kent, state veterinarian who was sent to examine the horse the fol- I lowing day, that she had injured her back during the running of the race and that she was not able to do her best. "The horse in all probability, will not be in condition to race again at the Lincoln Fields meeting."
