OFF AT 2:28 EASTERN WAR TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving ; third the same. CLOUDY WEATHER improved his position on the inside, went out for the drive, overtook QUARTO in the final strides and finished in a dead heat with the latter. QUARTO, steadied along earlv and sent to the pacemaker from the outside on the far turn, took command between calls, but could not shake free of CLOUDY WEATHER. TRY FLYING was hustled to the front, made the pace under pressure and was not good enough. TEULIGHT could not keep up after getting awav fast. ED M. tired. SWAY showed nothing. RlSTY GOLD outsprinted her field to set a good pace, lengthened her advantage to the far turn, was shaken up after entering the stretch and outlasted YELLOW KITTEN. The latter moved fast from the outside on the far turn and menaced the winner through the final eighth. DONS COUNT went up momentarily on the far turn. ALCHANC showed nothing. FOUR TENS, unable to menace early, moved to the leaders from the inside entering the stretch and outfinished NIBBLE. The latter alternated in making and forcing the pace with WAR COUNSELLOR, was always hard put and faltered briefly through the final stages. WAR COUNSELLOR showed in f;ont between calls, contributed to the defeat of NIBBLE and gave way in the last sixteenth. ONE LINK, from a slow start, made up ground. HIGH BROW had no mishaps. BIG ALBERT, held, together until the far turn, was hustled to the leader approaching the stretch, wore down VALDINA HIKER, and drew away. TRAVEL went forward from along the rail, could not menace, but showed a fair effort. VALDINA HIKER made the pace under pressure and was tiring when overtaken. SWING SISTER closed well. BIG WASH raced on the outside, appeared to be moving to the leaders in the first three furlongs, then faltered. LADYS AGENT was done early. Overweight — Swing Sister, 1 pound: Hustling Dom, 2. BILLY BUMPS moved resolutely forward on the outside, avoided crowding on the far turn and drew off without difficulty through the final eighth. GREGALACH, away well but forced to be eased somewhat on the turn, came to the outside and finished strongly. BOB MURPHY, hustled forward on the outside, appeared to be moving to the front, but could not cope with the winner and shortened stride in the stretch. WEE ADMIRAL showed the way as far as he could under urging. J. L. MOORE, in close on the far turn, was forced to give way. He was cut on the off hind leg in the running. OUR STYLE dropped back when in tight quarters on the far turn. BAYONET was eased-when in close quarters. MEL McCREADY could not keep up. Overweight — Pere Markette. 3 pounds. ONE ONLY passed faltering horses. TATTLE TALE flattened out after a half. VICE ADMIRAL went forward briefly from along the rail. The others showed nothing.
