New Gate at Hilltop Park STEUBENVILLE, Ohio, June 12.— General manager D. E. Cronin has always believed that the most important part of a race, from the fans standpoint, is the start. And because he is a hobbyist, Cronin has tinkered with the construction of starting gates. At the Hilltop Park meeting opening next Thursday afternoon at 4:30 p. m., Tri-State turf followers will see the first model of a Cronin perfected starting gate. The big 10-stall electric unit will be used by starter Bill Daly at the local plant for the first time.
