STRAWRIDE, reserved off the early pace, saved ground while improving his positi6n, but could not reach the winner. DUCKER fenced well while racing with the pace, but weakened. PHALANGER was used up racing with the pace. RICE CAKE showed nothing. BUSY MOMENTS was never a factor. MOR-LUC lost rider at the thirteenth jump, was remounted and completed the course. CANT CATCH ME forged to the front under hustling tactics, set a good pace and held on willingly. UNCLE REMUS was always forwardly placed, but failed to threaten the top pair in the drive. CORAL STAR continued gamely while rallying only mildly. TRAPEZE broke tardily, improved his position gradually and should get better with education. CHALLY MALLY weakened after showing speed. The latter was hard held while a forward factor, dropped back nearing the stretch, then closed with good courage. SARAWAK, running his usual race, dropped far out of contention early and was forced to circle the entire field. TALASEA raced within striking distance, but had nothing left for the drive.
