DONS COUNT showed in front in the first quarter while under light restraint, took back off of MAELINE while saving ground, then responded to pressure in the final, furlong to outfinish the latter. MAELINE was under steady urging in the last half and faltered in the finafseventy yards. POMPOUS FOX, well placed from the beginning, failed to rally when put to pressure. CAHORS raced evenly and bled in the running. MAROC improved his position steadily under intermittent urging. NEAT KEE moved up with a rush, then raced evenly through the final furlong. ALLEGRO was unable to improve position under pressure. TIGER MISS was unable to keep up. ROUGH ALLY was through after a half mile. The others were outrun. HAN, forwardly placed on the outside, responded to pressure on the turn, swerved in the stretch, was straightened and was up in time to nip SUN-CLAD in the final stride. The latter was sent to the front in the first quarter, opened a clear lead and held on well to the final sixteenth, then faltered. SUNSHADE, in a formidable position from the beginning, was sent to the inside of the winner when he swerved in the stretch and closed willingly. XCITABLE showed a good effort. GALLONG broke slowly, was sent up fast on the turn, then failed to respond to intermittent pressure. MAGNA RAY broke alertly, was taken up sharply and failed to .reach contention thereafter. SPEEDY FELLOW was unable to keep up. RANGE RATE raced evenly. ELLEN VALJEAN showed nothing. SURE SLEEPY was devoid of speed. SAMBA SIREN, well handled when outrun in the first quarter, came around horses on the turn, continued to gain under pressure when straightened out and" wore down CAMBRIDGE FAIR inside the final sixteenth. The latter disposed of SUN DOGGIE nearing -the furlong pole and was hard ridden to remain with the winner to the seventy yard pole, then faltered. SUN DOGGIE had good speed from the beginning and saved ground, then weakened in the late stages. MATADOR JOHN had no mishap. BORZOI was rushed up fast on the far turn, then faltered. IN VOGUE, going easily while close up, responded to stout handling in the stretch and got up in time. FOUR QUEENS showed speed from the beginning, drew clear and was steadied along until straightened in the stretch, then was under intermittent pressure, but failed to last. CARMEL TOWN was rushed up on the inside in the first quarter, was unable to get through on the inside, was eased back and rallied mildly on the turn, then raced evenly in the final furlong. HEYORTA was unable to improve position when called upon. HEAT WAVE lacked early speed. FIRST COMMAND went evenly under steady urging. COURT ACE broke forwardly, was outrun in the first half mile and failed to rally when put to pressure. HEMDAY was never prominent. VIM was unable to keep up. WHIZZERETTE was outrun. JELLICO, allowed to settle into best stride, began working his way up on the outside nearing the far turn, came around horses entering the stretch, assumed command near the furlong post and drew out under steady urging. PEACE TALK, under a tight hold in the first half, moved up with a rush when ready, came to the outside entering the stretch, then rallied mildly in the final strides. MEL CROSBY saved ground while under restraint for six furlongs, continued to gain on the inside, but was unable to reach the leaders when put to pressure. PANA TAPPER assumed command at once, was steadied along while enjoying a clear lead to midway of the final turn, then held on resolutely, only to weaken in the final sixteenth. QUEEN ISABELLA closed with a rush in the final furlong. PURE SILK failed to respond to urging. LOCAL FINANCE had no mishap. LA PATICA flattened out badly after three-quarters. BILL HARDEY was hustled from the beginning to gain command, was steadied along with a comfortable lead, then bore out badly entering the stretch, was straightened nearing the furlong post and was drawing away under a hand ride. BLENWEED was in hand while following close behind the pace for six furlongs, rallied mildly on the final turn, raced wide behind the winner and held on gamely. ST. JOCK, forwardly placed, saved ground entering the stretch, then failed to gain under steady urging. UNKNOWN REWARD saved ground when making his move, but was unable to reach the leaders. SUNSPARK, close to the pace under light restraint, was allowed to drop back when the field closed up on the far turn, then was steered to the outside to take the lead nearing the furlong post and held his advantage under strong handling. WAPAM remained with the leader while saving ground on the backstretch, was shuffled back on the turn, then rallied to close fast on the inside. BUS V. Z., under a tight hold for five furlongs, slipped through on the inside leaving the backstretch, was steered between horses to assume a short lead, then faltered in the final furlong. MIDNIGHT RIDE made his move alongside BUS V. Z., lost ground on the turn, then closed willingly. PRETTY TIGER weakened. GLENWOOD BOY had no mishap. STARWAY quit badly after three-quarters. JELWELL had no mishap. MAGIC HASTE was sent through on the inside midway of the final turn, then faltered. ABBOTS MAID saved ground when making her move, then weakened when put to a drive.
