As Many as Ten May Go in Betsy Ross Stakes Heres Me, Fleet West and Gemet Probables for Suffolk Feature SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., June 17. The ninth running of the 0,000 Betsy Ross Stakes, five and one-half furlongs event for two-year-old fillies, will feature next Saturdays card. Racing secretary John P. Turner expects this event to draw a field of from eight to 10 starters. Already on the grounds and pointing for the Betsy Ross are Fred Wyses Heres Me, Alfred Richers Fleet West, Oran Lodge Stables Gemet, Longchamps Farms Va-liente, and T. C. Melroses Mel Van Orman and Lookinrosey. Melrose will probably send at least one to the post. Heres Me and Fleet West have been winners at the meeting, while Valiente was highly regarded in New York prior to shipping here. C. V. Whitneys colors probably will be carried to the post in the filly event by Mother, a daughter of Mahmoud-Fuss Budget, who has been trained with the Betsy Ross in view. She is in New York at present, but a decision will be made as to whether or not she will be shipped over for the race in the next few days. Other New York establishments who may send representatives for the engagement are Circle M. Ranch Stable, Victor Emanuel and W. H. LaBoyteaux. Circle M. Ranch has four fillies eligible, Rhodelin, Seaton Pippin, Sugar Pill and Cosmic Missil. The Emanuel representative is Decor, while the LaBoyteaux hope is Pipette. The Betsy Ross has been won in the past by such good fillies as Spindletop, Strange Device, and Lady Gunner, among others..
