GRAY SYNGO was under a steady drive from the furlong pole while racing on the inside. ROMAN ABBOT assumed command at once, was steadied along under light restraint, then weakened when put to a drive. TRAGIC ENDING made up ground in the late stages. SKIPPER Z. was unable to reach the early leaders under urging. RENRAW quit after forcing the pace for a half mile. CHANCE CROSS was outrun.
