Whirling Fox Breezes Mile In 1 45 Over Aqueduct Strip StripAQUEDUCT AQUEDUCT L I N Y May 10 Belair Studs Whirling Fox a maiden son of Whirlaway who is thought in some Quar ¬ ters the most likely prospect to halt Calu ¬ met Farms domination in the threeyear old events showed that he has fully recov ¬ ered from the rather mysterious lameness that followed his seasonal debut by breeze ing a mile in 145 at Aqueduct this morn ¬ ing Whirling Fox is being pointed for the Belmont Stakes at a mile and a half on June 12 but will probably be given a race or two before that engagement Whirling Fox finished second to Relic in the Hopeful Stakes last year and was also closest to Citation in the Futurity antl v ended the season as James Fitzsimmons chief candidate for classic honors The son of Whirlaway Marguerite succumbed to Ace Admiral in his seasonal debut and ap parently injured himself in that race com ¬ pelling him to forego engagements in the Derby and Preakness but is going soundly now and looms the chief rival to Citation and Coaltown in the Belmont Stakes if able to recover his stretchrunning ability of last season
