Most Officials Returning To Serve at Cranwood CranwoodMurphy Murphy as Steward Lone Major Change Over Thistle Down List ListCRANWOOD CRANWOOD PARK WarrensvilleOhio May 10 The official staff appointed by general manager G W Lewis to conduct the Cranwood Park meeting which opens here on Wednesday for a runof 19 days is practically the same which gpverned the sport during last seasons Thistle Down atRandall Park session The major change effected in the official lineup is that of steward J J Murphy for many years DAILY RACING FORM correspondent has been appointed to serve in the stewards stand in place of E E Williams WilliamsMurphy Murphy who arrived here last week will vservei asassociatesteward with Edward E Thomas who held the post of presiding steward last year for the Thistle Down Racing Association and retains the same title with the Cranwood Racing Associa ¬ tion Murphy formerly served as general manager of Agua Caliente race track and came here from San Mateo Calif where he was a placing judge during the Bay Meadows meeting Thomas has a thorough background of the sport having been a jockey in his younger days and then a starter and has held various other official positions at tracks on the West Coast L J Giles who also is racirig secretary and handicapper will be the third man in the pagoda These three are also listed officially as placing judges for the Cranwood Racing Association Linus Pierce is listed as paddock judge and will also serve as a patrol judge with Ray Douglas Frank Kelly a former rider will dispatch the fields during the meeting with J L Watkins named a clerk of scales The duties of timer and identifier will be performed by Hal Kiserr KiserrLewis Lewis pronounced the completely reju ¬ venated Cranwood Park plant in readiness for Wednesdays openingday program
