Trotter Family Extends Thanks for Kindnesses KindnessesSincerely Sincerely Grateful for Help Given in Their Hour of Grief GriefJAMAICA JAMAICA L L N Y May 10 Racing secretary John B Campbell received the following letter from Helen Trotter and her children expressing sincere thanks for the kindness offered by racing folk in her hour of grief griefThe The letter follows Coral Gables Fla May 3 1948 1948To To our many friends My children and I wish to thank all who came forward to help us when my husband was lost on a fishirig trip in the Keys I never learned the names of many of you folk whom I was toW gave so willingly and generously to help us hence I am unable to write each one of you personally However I do want to tell you that from the bottom of bur hearts we are grateful I also want you to know that at no time was I either offended embar ¬ rassed or too proud to accept your offer of financial assistance I truly thought it a splendid gesture and it made me very happy to know how concerned all of yftou were for our welfare Had our children been small and not able to work I probably would have needed this help helpI I was overwhelmed at the demonstra ¬ tion of kindness and thoughtfulness of the many who came to see us the many phone calls letters telegrams and others means of contact both directly or indirectly of folk who were offering their prayers and won ¬ derful messages of hope and consolation consolationOur Our thanks and gratitude to the exten ¬ sive search conducted by the HBPA and to any individual who gave so much of their time or financed a trip in this search Be ¬ lieve me it was most gratifying to know j that everything humanlypossible was being done to find my husband husbandWe We are proud of the many complimen ¬ tary things saldT about Tobe We miss him very much and delayed this letter hoping he might return to join us in our thanks We still have not given up hope Again we say thank you all you are truly friends and it pleases us that the generosity of your hearts continue to remember Tobe in your prayers Very sincerely Signed Helen Trotter and Children
