John P White Succumbs At New Jersey Residence ResidenceFormer Former Owner Dies After Unusual incident Thoroughbred Importer ImporterPASSAIC PASSAIC N J June 8 John P White 68 former racehorse owner died at his home here 179 Lafayette Street of a heart attack early this morning White a for ¬ mer contractor had been crippled from paralysis for the last two years and his death was brought about by an odd acci ¬ dent On Friday White was in the drive ¬ way and saw a dog trying to get a bone out of a trash barrel White picked up the bone to give to the dog but the animal misunderstood his intentions and leaped at him and in his infirm condition White was thrown over and suffered head and arm injuries which later provoked the heart attack attackWhite White had raced a number of horses during the 1920s the best of which were Everytime I Hope So John F and Deedie At one time he brought over 50 yearlingsl from Ireland and also imported Totalisator to this country He sold a half interest in the latter to the late Col E R Bradley but the horse was a failure at both racing and stud White gave up racing interests with the advent of the depression depressionThe The body is at Gormley Funeral Home Passaic and funeral services will be held from St Nicholas Church Passaic fol ¬ lowed by burial services in St Nicholas Cemetery Lodi Surviving White are his wife and four children Thomas J Mrs James F Whalen John P Jr and James E
