Phillies Claim New DiMag In Torontos Eddie Sanicki PHILADELPHIA, Pa., May 8 UP . — Eddie Sawyer, the pilot of the Philadelphia Phillies, has come up with the latest nomination for "The New DiMaggio." Sawyers candidate is 25-year-old Eddie Sanicki, currently patrolling the outfield for Toronto of the International League. "Give Sanicki a year or two," Sawyer predicts, "and hell be one of the finest players in the majors." Sanicki was sent to Toronto because the Phils want him to play every day. According to Sawyer, the young right-hand slugger has only one or two minor flaws and when theyre polished, Sanicki will be a fixture in the Philadelphia outfield.
