Lamiral Wins at Longchamp PARIS, France, May 8 Reuters.— After unseating jockey Roger Poincelet in a false start, Lamiral yesterday won the Prix Hoc-quart over the mile and a half at Long-champ here and enhanced his Epsom Derby claims. Madame Leon Volterra afterward stated the colt was a certain runner at Epsom. My Love won this race in 1948 and went on to win the Derby. Lamiral beat Lacaduv by a neck, with Marcel Boussacs Derby challenger, Pardal, and Anubis second and third. At Fridays Derby callover, Lamiral was fourth favorite at 100 to 8, while Pardal was backed down to third choice at 9 to L.
