IRISH MONKEY, well rated in the opening stages, took the fences cleanly, moved up when called upon to head GENANCOKE nearing the last jump and won drawing out. GENANCOKE followed HOT closely in the early running, easily took command when the latter began to shorten stride, opened up a good lead, but was no match for the top one. ADAPTABLE was well rated while jumping cleanly and went gamely to the end. HOT had the most early foot but tired. PILGRIMS WAY broke his leg at the last fence and was later humanely destroyed. SHEILAS REWARD was a strong contender from the outset and held on determinedly. ADMIRALS PRIDE was never far back, raced a trifle wide, but went well to the finish. STARECASE had the most early speed, but dropped back in the stretch when the real racing began. EROSION began slowly, as usual, but made up some ground. CURTAIN RAISER tired badly in the stretch. PERSIST, steadied close to the pace in the early part, moved to the front nearing the last turn to run his race, but was no match for the winner. QUESTUS was permitted to drop back in the early stages, then made a belated mild run through the stretch. PEACE MISSION moved with the leader nearina 9 the we stretch turn, then weakened. LIBERTY ROAD was snugged close up in the early running and getting to the front in the stretch had enough left at the finish to hold JACOPADES The latter moved up on the outside of LIBERTY ROAD in the stretch and was in close quarters between the latter and TASK but went well when clear. TASK charged on the outside after being straightened out for home and raced well to the finish. NONPAREIL closed some ground. QUICK RETORT had early speed but weakened when the real racing began.
