Another Louis Announcement SAO PAULO, Brazil, May 10 UP . — Ex-heavyweight champion Joe Louis said today he will return to the U. S. to consider a campaign to regain his title. In June, 1948, Louis announced he had retired after beating Joe Walcott. In subsequent months he said he might change his mind. In March, 1949, he announced he had retired. In subsequent months he said he might change his mind. This spring he announced he had retired and would join a circus. Now he might change his mind.
