BURTS REWARD was restrained while being outrun the first six furlongs, made a gradual and well-timed move on the outside nearing the stretch tum, easily took command on the outside in the final eighth and won with something to spare. HITHERTO was rated close to the pace and topped FOX RING just after entering the final furlong, but was.unable to resist the winner. FOX RING had the most early foot and killed off HIS JEWEL, then tired. CO IN ELLA was going fairly well at i,.„w . RENEW raced under restraint and well placed from the start, challenged B. DOUBLE B. entering the last furlong, but had to be hustled along to the end when the latter held on stubbornly. B. DOUBLE B. showed good speed out of the gate to withstand a couple cf bids around the stretch turn and, though headed by the winner in the last furlong, went gamely to the end. VERVE was in close quarters early, was in and out around the tum and could have been best. NAUTCH DANCER held on fairly well after threatening in the first half mile. WATERFLOWER made a definite move rearing the stretch turn, then weakened and might have needed the race. STREAM LADY was going fairly well at the end. LONE FISHERMAN was steadied for the first mile and a half while taking the obstacles well and coming strongly on the inside nearing the last jump, took command when clear and drew out. SEA LEGS was well rated close to the pace and moved to the front nearing the last jump, but was unable to resist the winner and was being eased at the end. WHATTA KNIGHT showed the most early speed, made a bad landing at the eighth jump and was in close quarters between LONE FISHERMAN and SEA LEGS when weakening near the finish. TOLBIAC lacked much speed, but fenced fairly well. COURAGE ROAD fell at the second jump. AUFTAKT lost rider at the fifth, TALLYMAN fell at the seventh, OEDIPUS ran out at the seventh, FALL GUY fell at the eleventh and IRISH CLOWN fell at the twelfth. STEFANA began to falter near the finish and won under pressure. ST. STEFANA opened up a good lead in the first quarter, but was unable to resist the winner although holding the others safe. MARSHY DELL was never far away in an even effort. JACODEMA was going well at the end. POULE DEAU was unable to keep up. LUCKY LADY was badly outrun. LAICO was badly outrun to the stretch, then came through next the rail while the early leaders were racing wide and, saving much ground, lasted to win under urging. BUZFUZ was well up from the start, but bore out in the stretch to interfere with STUNTS, for which he was disqualified and placed last STUNTS rushed up on the outside after leaving the backstretch and, although forced to lose much ground, would have been dangerous, but for the interference suffered in the last sixteenth. UP BEAT weakened in the stretch. REVEILLE dropped back when in close quarters around the far turn. DAIQUARI was forced to take up sharply around the far turn. SIAMA dashed into contention from a rather slow beginning, headed the field nearing the stretch turn, withstood a challenge from NEXT MOVE after forcing the latter wide on the last turn and, after drifting out in the last sixteenth, was straightened out near the end to win under mild urging. NEXT MOVE. lacked her usual early speed and made a good move after being forced out on the stretch turn, but was bothered when SIAMA drifted in front of her in the last sixteenth weakened near the end and ran below her best form. HONEYS GAL was well up most of the way in a creditable race. DRIFTING MAID showed speed in spots. RADIANT dropped back early, then made a mild move nearing the stretch tum, but ired. COYOTE was a strong contender from the start, but faltered in the last furlong. LORD GRILLO was used up setting the early pace and had little left for the final drive. ARALAK saved ground while being outrun in ihe first six furlongs and, coming through on the inside in the stretch, easily headed the field approachinq the last furlong and drew away near the end. ST. GEORGE was never far from the pace and went well to the finish, but was not good enough. FARMINGTON made up considerable ground. IMPACT had no excuses and weakened when the real racing began.
