Whiffenpoof to Clash InTowson at Pimlico PimlicoPIMLICO PIMLICO Baltimore Md May 6 Carolyn K Stables Whiffenpoof who was withdrawn from Mondays Primary Day Handicap after having made the trip from New Jersey remained in local quarters to be entered in tomorrows featured 4000 Towson Purse a dash of six furlongs for allowance sprinters Others entered over ¬ night include Walter A Jack Edgars Jack The Great Alan T Clarkes King Mowlee George A Sacks Rare Knave and the Mrs Henry S Clark Winlochan Stable tandem of Puppet and Adopt AdoptWhiffenpoof Whiffenpoof a Bull Dog gelding has not raced since Laurel where he was beaten less than one length by Easy Whirl in 111 That effort brought his seasonal record to a pair of wins and four seconds in eight starts His victories were accom ¬ plished at Hialeah Park during the winter and at the sevenfurlong distance distanceJack Jack The Great hasnt been worse than fourth in a quintet of starts this season and figures to duel with Whiffenpoof both for support and the main share of the spoils In this most recent venture which was over this strip the fouryearold son of Jack High was beaten but a length by Repetoire in 111 The latter came back to finish a bangup second behind Senator Joe in the Primary Day in which a new track record of 106 for five and onehalf furlongs was established establishedThe The Adopt Puppet coupling should come in for a fair share of public support and either member of the entry could prove formidable Adopt has raced but once this season finishing just three lengths behind Repetoire in a wellrun sprint at this track and that effort could sharpen him for a successful sortie Puppet will be launching his current campaign and last year was proficient enough to score five victories during his campaign campaignKing King Mowlee has been completely over ¬ shadowed by his more illustrious stable mate Senator Joe but has been consider ¬ ably better than an empty stall The Alaking gelding scored his lone victory in eight starts during the Laurel meeting beating Delta Eagle and Suleiman in 112 He too was in the Repetoire race and was beaten only four lengths for all the money while just one length behind Adopt AdoptRare Rare Knave seems a bit overmatched in the Towson and is the probable outsider in the sixhorse field In a recent appear ¬ ance he was eight lengths behind Jack The Great He could however surprise under 107 pounds
