then gamely withstood BROOKSHIRE in the final run BROOKSHIRE went to the front soon after the start was steadied when outrun and saved all possible ground on the turn then responded gamely when set down for the drive and possibly was a trifle short for the effort MIGHTY DAN never was far back and loomed dangerously in the early stretch then swerved when punished and was not ganing at the end THOS E LYNCH could not keep up early and raced between horses then finished well MR JONES raced on the outside after a slow start and gave a good effort BAYTOWN had good early speed but drifted very
