Ole Bobo Newsom, in and out of the big leagues -, since 1929, was signed today by the hard pressed Philadelphia Athletics, general manager Arthur Ehlers announced. Newsom, christened Louis Norman nigh on to 45 years ago, will join the As in Chicago tomorrow, ready to unfurl his right arm as a member of the pitching corps.
