Phils Whip Pirates, 5-4; Take Three of Four Games PHILADELPHIA, Pa., June 16. UP.— The Phillies made it three out of four in their series with the Pittsburgh Pirates when they defeated the Bucs 5-4 at Shibe Park today despite home runs by Ralph Kiner and George Strickland. The Sawyer-men pushed over the win- ning run in the seventh inning to break I a 4-4 tie and give relief pitcher Jim Kon-stanty his second victory in four decisions. Richy Ashburn opened the seventh with a triple to right and came home on Gran Hamners fly to center. The score: PITTSBURGH 020 110 000—4—6—1 PHILADELPHIA 001 012 lOx— 5— 8— 1 Kline, LaPalme 6 and Garagiola; Rid-zik, Heintzelman 6, Konstantly 7 and Burgess. Home Runs — Kiner 11th, Strickland 4th. Winning pitcher — Konstantly 3-1. Losing pitcher — LaPalme 1-1.
