CHOW CHOW was slow to start and was outrun for a half, then came fast between horses after entering the stretch to get to the front in the last furlong and won going away. NEW HOPE was rated in the first part and came steadily through the stretch to catch VISTICSON in the last stride. VISTICSON went to the front early and demonstrated good speed in pacemaking, but weakened near the end. SYNDCATE made up considerable ground while racing on the outside. MEDITATE was under restraint while racing within striking distance in the early running, then moved up on the outside in the stretch to challenge for the leadership, but just managed to defeat STEPHENS GIRL narrowly. STEPHENS GIRL improved her position between horses after entering the stretch and raced strongly to the finish. SIDS PRIDE drew away from the field after saving ground on the stretch turn, but was not good enough for the first two. SWIVELING closed ground on the outside. FRENCH ROOM tired. FOR RENT was closest to MARIE EILEEN while the latter was making the pace and, easily passing her after entering the final furlong, drew away thereafter. MARIE EILEEN displayed the most early speed and hugged the ail entering the stretch, but lacked the power to last. ARMY CONSCRIPT was going gamely well out frcm the rail at the end. WELL WORTH IT moved on the outside of FAMOUS SHAKE after entering the stretch and, forging to the front entering the final furlong, pulled away at his leisure to win with speed in reserve. FAMOUS SHAKE dashed to the front early to open up a good lead nearing the far turn, then saved ground to hold on well. UNBRIDLED improved his position in the stretch and was going well at the end. OLD FIDDLE was rated within striking distance for the first six furlongs, then came to the outside in the stretch to move strongly and taking command an eighth out, disposed of JET ACE and held DARK COUNT under mild urging. DARK COUNT was outrun early but made a good effort in the stretch to finish gamely. JET ACE had the most speed and saved ground in the stretch, but was not good enough. REAL DELIGHT attained a forward position soon after the start and was not called upon for her best until after straightening out in the stretch, then came forward steadily to challenge RECOVER, but met with stiff opposition and was hand ridden to win slowly drawing out. RECOVER set the pace under slignt reserve and saved ground in the stretch to contest the issue stubbornly when challenged and only gave way in the final thirty yards. BELLA FIGURA lacked early speed, but came fast when called upon and was racing strongly at the end. PRINCESS ANN had something taken out of her trying to catch RECOVER in the first half mile. CROWNLET weakened. LAST GREETINGS was unable to keep up and failed to be a factor at any stage. The others were outpaced. GOING AWAY was hustled to the front early and, saving ground after being headed by EVICTED, passed the latter after going half the trip and widened on the field entering the stretch, but was forced to a hard drive to hold VOLCANIC. The latter was under restraint in the first half mile and had some difficulty finding an opening around the stretch turn, but came through to stage a very strong finish and just failed to get up. ABBE STING, a trailer in the early stages, came very fast between horses through the stretch. JACOBOY weakened near the end. EVICTED tired. INSEPARABLE and CHICLE II. failed to be serious contenders.
