June 17. — A field which may number no more than five or six is expected to start in Wednesdays 5,000 Omnibus Handicap. Although 21 were originally named for the mile and a furlong test, the line-up of probables has shrunk considerably and it now appears the post parade will be drawn from J. J. Colandos Uncle Miltie, Mrs. E. L. Hopkins Three Rings, Putnam Stables Combat Boots, J. Gavegnanos Joey Boy and Paul L. Kelleys Sea Grass. In checking through the nomination list, racing secretary John Turner, Jr., has also indicated three possibilities in the Rokeby Stables top-heighted County Delight, winner of the recent Queens County Handicap at Aqueduct, Circle M. Farms War Poppy and L. G. Robinsons Chat Noir II.
