entries in Name That Yearling contest Observation Some folks have awful trou ¬ ble with the Jockey Club getting names yet here were almost a million for ONE HORSE more names by far than are in the Jockey Club files The yearling presentation ceremonies have become an ¬ other of the more pleasant Derby week traditions Dont ever let any one libel racecrowds any more The horse folks here for the Derby are posi ¬ tively sedate in comparison to the noisy goingson of conventions in Louisville of a few days ago The police of Louisville want everyone to have a good time at the Derby and their orders are to be courte ¬ ous but firm Traffic has been worked out to the last word in efficiency but it is still the best bet to park downtown and use public transportation to the track gates Express buses are a good bet and they make fast time and everyone uses them as well as cabs save the few who charter their own Greyhounds for private parties Jimmy arid Ben Jones have made riding the track an integral part of their training routine and wed guess they each had rid ¬ den 50 miles over the Downs strip since they and the horses came over from Keene land They are aware of the up to the minute condition of every inch of the famed Derby pathway
