Handicap to be featured here Saturday will attract one of the best fields of thoroughbreds ever to go to the post at this course if the nomina ¬ tions in to date are to be taken as a criterion Among those named are several winners of important stakes during the past year as well as numerous handicap win ¬ ners All that is necessary is that the racing strip be fast and as the weather has broken for the better during the current week it appears as if that will be the case Sir Tribal winner of the Stars and Stripes Handicap and Balmoral Turf Handicap last year Tussle Patch hero of the Charles W Bidwill Memorial Speed Rouser winner of the Le Compte Pelleteri and Louisiana Handicaps at the Fair Grounds during the past winter Estacion who took an im ¬ portant stakes in Florida a couple of months ago Good Gesture who triumphed in the opening days Inaugu ¬ ral Rock Pilot who won the Nash Memorial last year Jimmy the One who took the Silver Anniversary Handicap at Sportsmans in 1956 and who also won the AkSarBeri Queens Plate Better Goods winner of the richest race ever staged at Sportsmans the National Jockey Club Handicap decided last fall and mile and onesixteenth track record holder at this course and KopVs Hope stablemate of Tussle Patch Sam Slick King Bebe and Next Page were the nominations on the table of racing secretary Robert McAuliffe this morning morningField Field Will Be Limited to 12 12As As nominations were not due to close until mid ¬ night tonight it seemed probable thata few more might be named In the advent that 12 or less are listed through the entry window Friday morning all will start If over a dozen are designated there will be an alsoeligible list with tl ose outside the first drawn 12 having a chance at the 15000 purse only if one or more of the first 12 are withdrawn This situation prevails due to the fact that the Nash is not aruadded money race If nomination and entrance fees were obligatory then all named would be entitled to a crack at the purse thereby bringing about a situation for as a rule but 10horse fields are permissible at this track trackTwo Two of the leading riders here have announced plans for the immediate future
