Virginia By Nancy Lee Sire Khaled and Two Sons Report Progeny Gajlorette Represented in Broodmare Band Sometime Thing Drops Foal by Count Fleet FleetMIDDLEBURG MIDDLEBURG Va May 10 Derby Day on May 3rd proved to be quite an eventful one at Mrs M E Lunns Rancho Llangollen in Chino Calif as three very interesting foals arrived The imported matron Winshaw Lass dropped a brown or black filly by Khaled Khaleds son Swaps was the sire of the chestnut filly pro duced by another imported mare Weeber and still another son of Khaled Correspondent was the sire of a chestnut filly which the imported mare Catch of the Sea ¬ son had This must be a record of sorts when a sire and two of his sons have progeny produced the same day at the same farm The three mares were purchased by Mrs Lunn at the 1955 Newmarket December Sales Winshaw Lass a daughter of Dante from Cretan Belle she by Mieuxce included among her successes the Coronation Handicap at Wolverhampton and was in foal to Faubourg II at the time of her purchase Shipped to this country she produced a brown colt Winsham Lad in 1956 which was her first foal A daughter of the good troodmare sire Panorama out of Amy Leigh the filly Weeber was bred to Swaps last season and her foal on the third was of course her first one During her racing career Weeber won the Nimble Plate at Windsor the Kingsclere Stakes at Newbury and the Queen Mary Stakes at Ascot Catch of the Season a daughter of Big Game from Rose of Torridge she by Precipitation was a winner in England and placed as a twoyearold She was bred to Corre ¬ spondent in Virginia and then shipped to California where the aforementioned filly was her first foal foalLast Last year at Saratoga Mrs Marie A Moores High Hope Farm consigned a yearling colt by Royal Serenade out of Gallorette she the second leading moneywin ¬ ning race mare and leading fouryearold of her year This year the farms consignment will not include a representative from Gallorette but two of her daughters will join the list of broodmares whose get will be sold at yearling auction auctionMile Mile Lorettes Colt by Your Host HostMlleLorette MlleLorette bred by Mrs Moore was the first foal Gallorette produced after her retirement to the brood ¬ mare ranks This filly is by Lovely Night and among her accomplishments at the track was a winning effort in The Gallorette at Pimlico Now retired this stakes winning daughters first foal was a chestnut colt by Your Host This individual will be among the yearlings to be sold at Saratoga Galamoud by Mahmoud from Gallorette will be represented by a bay colt by Phalanx PhalanxLast Last Year Mrs Moore consigned a brown colt by Nasrullah out of Badoura she an imported mare by Colorado She had already produced two winners and her filly in this country Our Tulyar was a winner at two in 1957 The Nasrullah colt was purchased by Cain Hoy Stable and has been named Kingly Crown Included in this years consignment will be a half brother to Kingly Crown this being a bay colt by Princequillo PrincequilloWith With a consignment made up entirely of colts the other two individuals in the High Hope group are a brown colt by Rico Monte out of Roman Queen and a chestnu t colt by Windy City H from Sea Puss PussIn In 1956 Mrs Moore sold a roan filly by Bolero out of Shy Bim she by Bimelech and later on she sold Shy Bim Named Shy Dancer the filly has turned in creditable winning performances and was third in the Prioress Shy Dancers most recent effort was a second in an allowance race at Jamaica when she was beaten by Best Of Show The winning filly is by Billings and is out of Dog Show Dog Show will be represented at the Spa vendue this year by a bay filly by Royal Charger who is in the consignment of Mr and Mrs Melville
