TO BE LAST SEASON AT ASCOT. "With the close of the present season of racing at Ascot Iark the days of the track will bo numbered." says a Eos Angeles dispatch to the San Francisco Chronicle. The doom was pronounced when the city council agreed to permit the continuation of the meeting in return for the promise of the Jockey Club to cease attempting to tie up the recent annexation ot a strip to the San Pedro harbor front in the courts. Attorney Sam Haskins. for the club, declares Hint all the buildings will be razed, the grandstand torn down and it is probable that the track will be cut into building sites, for which it is well located and valuable, as it is now inside the city limits. "The probabilities are that next years racing will 1h conducted on the track at Arcadia on the Eucky Baldwin ranch property."
