p WINNERS OF THE DASH STAKES : : v The Dash Is olie of the Coney Island Jockey Clubs long-established stakes that was not opened for ad-v.-.nve entries this year :1ml is to be run as an overnight purse. Its twenty-third running takes place this afternoon. Its first winner. Van Leland, was by the Illinois-bred Volturno and was the property of Dan Honig. well known formerly on all Chicago race tracks. Champagne Charlie, its. second winner, was owned by a then Chicago man, W. P. Maxwell, and was a splendid two-year-old. Next to Salvator, lie was probably the best sired in this country, by the great English miler. Prince Charlie, and won eleven good races fo Maxwell that year. Reclare, its third winner, was a cracking good lilly that made a loor man rich, hvovgh- hls jiooU luck in acquiring her wheu.a yearllug. Other winners of great note were Eclipse, Henry of Navarre.
