ZIPALONG raced forwardly from the start and, responding to pressure entering the stretch, disposed of MISS MERRIMENT and was hard urged to the end. COHORT MISS, slow to start, improved her position steadily and, coming through on the inside into the stretch, finished with a rush. . TOP HIGH closed ground and finished well. MISS MERRIMENT propped at the start and was rushed into command, only to tire. IF IDA finished well ROMAN QUEEN had no mishaps. BLUE FOAM quit: ELF LOCK floundered in the going. CHERRY BRANDY jumped well and, under early restraint, moved up gamely when called upon, impeded HAMPTONIAN near the fifteenth fence, then drew clear. The latter, under restraint for a turn of the field, made up ground rapidly when called upon, was forced to take up when bumped and came again at the finish. SARDANEZA, a trailer until the final turn of the field, made up ground steadily under urging. BAGATELLE raced evenly and jumped well. MAID OF MARS showed early speed, raced ROCKDALE into defeat, then tired. SAN ROMOLO was outrun. SHYLOCK had no mishaps. MORTE MAIN pulled up lame. Overweight The Cottage Minstrel, 3 pounds.
