GOLD LURE, following in nearest attendance of the pacemaker in the early running, rallied nicely when placed to punishment at the stretch turn and, finishing determinedly, was up in the last fifty yards. PAGAN KING raced into a clear lead soon after the start, saved ground all the way, but tired in the closing eighth. RURAL MISS raced in the first flight, but lost ground for the entire trip. She was easily best of the others. WORTH TRYING could not improve his position at any stage while saving ground. SWEEPFAST could not enter contention at any time. ALDWYCH raced greenly. HEROWIN, slow as usual to settle into his stride, caught up with his field when reaching the turn, circled his company and came away smartly after moving into the lead midway of the stretch. .BAYDROP showed good speed from the beginning arid continued willingly until the close. THE MINER raced well placed and came with good courage when forced to a hard drive. SYENITE was badly blocked when attempting to drive through on the inside leaving the back stretch and was unable to threaten thereafter. RELATIVITY was outrun. MONSWEEP weaved his way between the leaders when reaching the back stretch, engaged the pacemakers when reaching the final turn, then continued stoutly after moving to the front and came out gradually nearing the end.- STORMBLOWN, shuffled back going to the first turn, raced into contention swiftly when in full stride, obtained racing room on the inside at the final turn, but had too much taken out of him and he tired in the last eighth. EPICURUS bettered his position steadily and finished gamely. LADY-MUCH, slow to get into full stride, circled her field and tame willingly at the dose. SAMOAN was made too much use of setting the pace and tired badly after seven ciehths. CHALGO raced forwardly, but was not good enough. SPEARMAN was never a factor. PHILDIA, rated behind the pace of PATSY MACAW, responded gamely when shaken up, but was unable to improved his position. LUXURO, squeezed back leaving the back stretch, recovered, but was unable to menace. PATSY MACAW had good speed while setting the pace, but tired during the stretch drive. SHEPHERD BOY raced evenly. TEMPESTUOUS, in the thick of contention in the early stages, rallied to severe pressure when reaching the stretch, then closed gamely and was up in the last strides in a hard stretch drive. OURAGAN displayed nice speed while setting the pace, saved ground all the way, responded to punishment and would likely have been the winner with a stronger ride. SACHEM fell back midway of the turn, raced to the inside when rallying and was going gamely at the end. GROG moved up determinedly at the curve, bu hired in the last quarter mile. NELL KUHLMAN, outrun for the first half mile, moved up strongly when reaching the stretch, closed stoutly in the late stages and was drawing away slowly after gaining the lead inside the final eighth. BACK-GROUND, kept on the outside of the leaders, finished stoutly approaching the finish. AMQUI forced a steady pace while following ROYAL DUCHESS, but faltered during the last eighth. BLUE DAMSEL finished full of run in the last quarter mile. CRATAEGUS moved up slwrply midway of the turn, but failed to rally in the stretch run. ROYAL DUCHESS showed eood early speed, but tired. LUGANO, slow to gain his best stride, worked his way up steadily when shaken up, but could not threaten the winner. FORT DEARBORN was made entirely too. much use of getting to the front, and tired badly when the real test came. DARK MISSION raced in spots. TOL1MATA went prominently all the way.
