Ed M. and Gray Dottie Score In First Two Detroit Events DETROIT, Mich., June 18.— Ed M.. from the stable of T. C. Melrose, and Gray Dottie, racing in the livery of G. R. Slates, were driving winners of the first two races on the initial twilight program of the long Detroit meeting. Combined in the Daily Double they brought about a return of 01.90 for each winning ticket. LoTurco had the mount on his contract employers Ed. M. in the first race, and he put his charge under a hard drive to overtake the veteran Cloudy Weather in the stretch Bright Count finished third among the eight who made up the field. • Gray Dottie also had to stand a hard drive to take the measure of Scenic Charm and Miss Flyer. The gray filly closed stoutly under jockey E. Hanson and was nearly in the clear as the wire was reached.
