No California Representation CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 4. — California, which produced one winner of the Kentucky Derby, was the foaling place of four eligibles to the big . race this year. Morvich, 1922 victor in the Derby, was foaled in California. Bred at I the A. B. Spreckels thoroughbred nursery, Morvich was brought East and sold to Ben-jamin Block in whose silks he won the rich Downs stakes. Aegan, Interpretation, Gold Capitol, and Lease Hound are California nominees this season but, unfortunately, no member of the quartet made the Derby grade.
