t ♦ i Staff of 5,000 to Handle Todays Derby Day Program CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 4. — President Bill Corum, in his second year as the head of the Kentucky Derby course, stated today that a staff of approximately 5,000 people will handle the operation on the big day. approximately half of the number of patrons witnessing the first Derby, won by Aristides. There are 60 program sellers, 200 ticket and gate admission men, some 1,500 persons employed by the Harry M. Stevens, Inc., track caterers; 250 ushers and 1,000 members of the state militia, augmented by 400 members of the Louisville and Jefferson County police department. — — i
