Ferd Concedes Dozen Foes Poundage in Valley Forge GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. J., May 4. — Mrs. Andy Schuttingers fast and game Ferd will take the top billing over 12 rivals who will participate here tomorrow in the tenth running of the 5,000 added Valley Forge Handicap. Ferd gained many New Jersey admirers as a sophomore last year when he captured the Jersey Stakes over Greek Song and Passemson after being practically left at the gate, and he will be heavily favored tomorrow. Ferd is well qualified to his 124-pound impost, which requires him to concede eight pounds to his closest rival, Mrs. Walter M. Jeffords Post Card. Brookmeade Farms Dart By is notched one pound less, with 115, followed by William G. Helis, Jr.s Ennobled, and Cedar Farms Halter, both with 114; Brookfield Farms Istan, Joe Gavegnanos Pensava, Mrs. Eben H. Ellison, Jr.s Sun Bahram, and Carolyn K. Stables Whiffenpoof, all with 110; M. Kahlbaums Risk A Whirl, 108, and B. L. Williams Passemson, Jan Burkes Squared Away and Mrs. Tilyou Christophers Spats, who will each carry 107 pounds.
