Palmer to Assist Riggs BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I.,. N, Y., 13.— L. A. "Speed" Riggs, the tobacco auctioneer, will be assisted by Joe H. Palmer in auctioning a number of valuable articles, including a bronze of Middleground by June Harrah, a jeweled spray by Cartier and a television set donated by RCA and a ranch mink stole from Sophie of Saks Fifth Avenue at Friday nights Belmont Ball. Palmer will trace the pedigree of the stole back to the Layton Barb mare. A statuette of an ideal thoroughbred by Herbert Hazeltime will be the door prize, while owners of all the Belmont Stakes candidates Jiave agreed to provide a shoe from the winner and the horseshoe of flowers to the place and show ticket holders in the drawing.
