SANCTUARY, «ased back while in a bit close along the backstretch, reached the leaders from the outside entering the stretch and drew clear under intermittent pressure. TURNPIKE improved his position steadily to assume command in the early stretch, then was unable to withstand the winner. SEVENTH TRIBE outbroke the opposition and. set the early pace, then was unable to retain his advantage. LUXURY TAX could not- keep up. MUSCAT raced forwardly placed to the stretch and faltered. WAR RHODES, unhurried while in close attendance to the pace, was placed to strong pressure while on the outside during the stretch run and wore down the leaders. HATTIE R. set the pace under rating and gave way in the final sixteenth. FACES EAST moved through along the inside to reach the leaders in the early stretch, then hung. GRASS SKIRT pressed the pace into the stretch, assumed a slight lead briefly and gave way. DOROTHYS MISS lacked a rally. EGOTIST showed nothing. NOT JOE displayed speed and quit. CHANGELING, steadied early when CHRISINDA moved to the inside and 0 then able to move to the lead when the same filly drifted out. faltered in the final stages. RISQUE MA loomed a threat from the inside, but lacked a closing rallv. GEE 0 GEE was knocked back early.
