HBPA Repudiates Recent Statement by Cameron Did Not Speak for or Represent Organization, Directors Declare ARLINGTON PARK, Arlington Heights, 111., June 27. — Following a special meeting held Tuesday night, Harold C. Hoffman, secretary and treasurer of the central division of the Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association, issued the following letter repudiating statements issued by Robert Cameron in the name of the HBPA. Frank Butzow, president, and Clyde Troutt, vice-president of the Illinois Thoroughbred Breeders Association, also issued a statement explaining that there was no connection between their organization and the Illinois Thoroughbred Owners and Trainers Association, with which Cameron is affiliated. The letters follow: "Our attention has been called to a statement appearing in the June 26 issue of the Daily Racing Form signed by one Robert Cameron, who presumes to speak for the Illinois Thoroughbred Owners and Trainers Association and the Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association. "We do not know anything about the Illinois Thoroughbred Owners and Trainers Association, but we wish to state emphatically that Mr. Cameron does not speak for OT represent the Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association in any manner whatever, except as an individual member. "Without entering into any controversy over any pending legislation or taking an official position on such legislation at this time, we completely repudiate the aforementioned statement by Mr. Cameron. "At a special meeting of the Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association Committee, with eight of the 10 members present, our reply as stated above was approved. Signed "HAROLD C. The statement from Butzow follows: "We wish to state that the Illinois Thoroughbred Owners and Trainers Association has no connection whatever with the Illinois Thoroughbred Breeders Association.
