Del Mars Racing Strip Undergoing Resurfacing DEL MAR, Calif., June 9.— Work of completely resurfacing the mile oval at the Del Mar Turf Club, in preparation for the summer season opening July 22, was started last week. Track superintendent Lee Roebuck had his crews begin the job of reworking the sub soil and adding hundreds of yards of new soil to form the top cushion. "We will have crews working on the track from now until opening day," general manager O. L. McKenney said. "And horsemen can be assured the Del Mar course will be in the finest condition ever."
