EFCEE established a clear lead under energetic handling on the backstretch, was hard put for the drive and outgamed WHEATGERM. The latter was a sharp contender from the start, threatened boldly in the stretch, but was not good enough. TRINACRIA saved ground early while well placed, came out for the drive and held or willingly. YEOMAN faltered in the drive. RED COMET went well until the stretch and tired. ANCESTOR was rated along while in close attendance of the leaders and, saving ground, came out when ready for the drive, disposed of JET A DANDY and won with something left. THYMUS vied for the lead on the rail and outfinished JET A DANDY for the place. The latter made the pace by a narrow advantage on the outside early, bothered REQUISITION when he swerved in midway of the stretch and faltered in the drive. The latter was a sharp factor between the leaders and dropped back when bothered. RIVER JORDAN had no excuse. COMMON CAUSE was slow to begin. SECOND LOOK showed little. MURAT tired. C. lacked speed early, was guided to the outside when set down for the drive and wore down the leaders in the final strides. KNIGHT ALERT pressed the pace rounding the turn, took command in the stretch and just failed. BLUE CHARGER maintained a clear advantage in the opening half mile, then held on stubbornly after being headed. ELIAS G. was within striking distance from the start and turned in a creditable effort. HIERARCH was through after a half mile. CEREMONIOUS should go better when sent a route. PRIZE RING ran out when tiring. TAPE READER showed a very dull effort. FOURTH RACE 5 1-2 FURLONGS. HILARIOUS raced slightly wide while improving position, made up ground rapidly in the stretch and drew away. FULL BROTHER quickly drew away from his field rounding the turn and tired badly in the drive, but lasted for the place. PRINCE CHARLIE stumbled at the start. TEN GOAL ran wide and was rank. JOHN KAPLAN lacked room. FEARFUL ODDS broke poorly. BLENDED had early speed and gave way, as did PRINCE TIP.
