Gehrmann said he still will run in both events. The two events are scheduled for June 21, the final day of the two-day meet at Long Beach, Calif. Gehrmann said he thought he would have a better chance if he didnt have to run them both on the same day. Gehrmann said he received a letter from Lloyd Olds, chairman of the AAU track and field committee, saying that only a majority of all the members of the national AAU committee could change the schedule and a full committee meeting is not scheduled until next October.
