Four Arlington Stakes Closing for Nominations Racing: secretary Frederick C Tat" Farrell advised horsemen of tonights deadline Saturday for nominations to four Arlington Park Stakes. The four events will highlight the Fourth of July holiday week end. The Myrtlewood and Cleopatra handicaps will be run Saturday, July 3. A six-furlongs sprint, the 0,000 added Myrtlewood is for three-year-olds and upward. The 5,000 added Cleopatra is limited to three-year-old fillies and will be decided over a one mile route. On Monday, July 5, the Stars and Stripes Handicap and Pollyanna Stakes will be co-features. The 5,000 added • Stars and Stripes, for three-year-olds and upward, will be run at one mile and one-eighth on the grass course. The 5,000 added Pollyanna is a five and one-half furlongs sprint for two-year-old fillies exclusively. Farrell said nominations for the four stakes are being accepted in the racing secretarys office at three tracks ... Arlington Park, Washington Park and Lincoln Fields.
