MR. „nt.„mt.n SKEETER, never far back, swerved to the Inside when taking command in the stretch, then drew clear under brisk urging. WAR DOLLAR went to the front at the start, set. the pace until inside the stretch, but could not stay with the winner. HOOP GANO gradually improved position, but could not get to the leaders when set down in the drive. BARGAINER, a sharp factor from the start, was bothered slightly when MR. SKEETER ducked to the inside during the stretch run, then tired. RUGGED BOY had no mishap. REDEAL was never dangerous. PREACHER began slowly. STAND OFF was never prominent. LEAVEMEALONE raced wide. IBERIA BOY showed nothing. AMERICAN GLORY had brief speed. MISS MIM JR. broke slowly, losing all chance. NEWATE, never far back, responded willingly when set down through the stretch and, disposing of SPEEDY FOOT, won going away. The latter began fast, set the pace until inside the stretch but was unable to hold the winner. MAYBE MABEL, away slowly, gradually improved position to the stretch, raced wide at the final turn, then finished well under punishment. BUY BOOKIE * -failed to stay when set down in the drive. BE REWARDED had early sped. BON-RU-MAR was never prominent. GAMBELLA had no mishap. MISS TOLTON raced greenly. GILDED TULIP was through early. NAZALEA had brief speed. MISS BOXER steadily improved her position to the stretch, disposed of TANGLED JOE and settled for the drive with a clear lead, but was vigorously handled thereafter to withstand MAIDS LIGHT. The latter, outrun to the stretch, finished strongly in the middle of the track, but could not reach the winner. BUTCH WOOD closed fairly well under punishment. DISCHARGE had early speed, but failed to rally when set down through the stretch. NIGHT CABLE raced wide. CALM BAY, away sluggishly, saved ground while working way forward to the stretch, was sent to the outside thereafter and, finishing fast, won with speed in reserve. WAR NIMBUS took an early lead, settled for the drive wiUva clear margin but could not stay with CALM BAY. ISIT CASH saved ground entering the stretch but could not better her position when set down in the drive. DEEP BLUE began fast, dropped back after the start and was unable to reach serious contention. JOLISAM was outrun. BOLTON had brief speed. BIDANDMADE could not keep up after beginning alertly. The latter took an early and long lead, settled in the stretch with a clear margin and held on determinedly, but could not withstand STORM BIRD, although easily best of the others. STEAMBOAT BILL lacked early speed and was unable to seriously threaten the top pair when. set down in the drive. WINNING began sluggishly, made a mild bid approaching the stretch, then tired. COLETOWN MAID had a rough race. ENGAGE ME was outrun and had no mishap. BARGAIN MISS, shuffled back when caught in tight quarters after the start, failed to recover.
