Lord Kent came fast after saving much ground on the turn into the stretch. Catherine R. tired fast near the end. Loretta II. closed a big gap and finished with a rush. Merry Belle ran a poor race under weak handling and can do much better. Ala Russell ran well to the stretch, but quit badly in the last furlong. Mart Gentry steadily improved his position, saved ground when turning into the stretch and outgamed Ingolthrlft. The latter was in a sulky mood and would not fully extend himself. J. W. ONeill, weakly ridden, was permitted to bore out badly in the stretch: Norwood Ohio tired in the stretch. Gotowiu foiind the going too stiff and ran poorly. Collector Jessup. away well and clear of interference, showed good early speed and found the distance a bit too far, but finished gamely. St. Valentine could not concede the weight and had to be hard driven to overtake De Reszke in the final furlong. The latter ran as if a bit slior.t.
